The dates of the 2011 Festival:
17, 18 and 19 June 2011.

At last! We are very happy to announce details of the 2011 Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival. The Festival will take place on Friday 17th, Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th June. The Opening Ceremony will be on Friday at 6.30pm on Custom House Quay and the singing programme will begin at 7pm on two of our three main stages (Custom House Quay and Events Square) until 10pm, and at several other venues in town until �.late!

Saturday�s main programme will begin at 11.00am, with the Moor Piazza main stage opening its programme alongside the other two main stages and again several venues in town. In addition this year, there are special events starting at 10.30am with singing on board the historic replica, the Matthew (www.matthew.co.uk) and Trelissick Gardens (www.nationaltrust.org.uk/main/w-trelissickgarden). Both of these events will carry a charge.

There will also be a book signing by the well-known maritime author Julian Stockwin at the Falmouth Bookseller. The singing programme will again finish late and during Saturday evening, a special concert will be held at Falmouth Arts Centre, with two well-known groups performing. This event will also carry a charge.

Sunday will begin with a special service at King Charles the Martyr church in town, at 10.30am, supported by Sheringham Shantymen. A last trip to Trelissick will also leave at 10.30am. The main singing programme will begin at 12.00 midday at all main venues, and continue until 4pm when Treverva Male Voice Choir will close the Festival on Events Square. From 5pm, all performers will be invited to Custom house Quay for an informal singing session until � late!

The Groups
